Ps. I also flushed the condenser out with cold water and debris did come out which could have been blocking the filter.

I’ve done all that, I cleared away loads of fluff and fan spins freely, also has continuity however when I observed it at the beginning of the dryer cycle it didn’t spin up, is there another way I can test the fan without applying AC current to it?

I tested the thermistor and it’s working so I went ahead and fitted a second replacement dryer element.
Have done three washes without drying successfully. Just tested the dryer with the lid off and can’t here or feel the fan going round (by feeling or observing the spindle which protrudes slightly from the top casing) within a minute or so of the cycle starting so I cut the power (also the blower housing is very hot).
My suspicion is that the blower motor could be knackered, it has continuity when tested with multimeter. I tried applying 12v to it and it moves fractionally but I’m assuming it needs AC current to operate.
Can you offer any advice as to how I can test it?
Thanks, Alex.

I think it was used on a 40min dry, which is most likely the cause for it going again. I will attempt to clean the condenser filter, can you advise how to do this?
Also, I tested the thermistor in the dryer housing and couldn’t get a resistance reading from it, what should it be?
Thanks again.

Just tried another wash cycle without drying and I am back to where I was before, lights 1-4 lit (interestingly there are 6 in total as opposed to 5 in the fault guide).
I’ve tested the dryer element again for continuity and its knackered, which is not what I’d expect as I have avoided the drying cycle. I was hoping it would at least continue to function as a washing machine.
Any advice you can suggest before I am forced to pay to have it repaired or replaced?

Think I need to temper my celebrations just a bit. On the dryer cycle I believe I have error F13 – Tumble dryer rear temperature rise too high. This has happened periodically over the last year or so, which I am guessing could have caused the element to go if it’s getting too hot? It says to check the fan motor or dryer filter, I cleared fluff out of the fan when it was apart. How should I test it? Also, where is the dryer filter?
Thanks, Alex.

I replaced the dryer element today and just finished a wash successfully, thanks very much for the help, saved me a lot of money no doubt!

Thanks for the reply, I think I’m going to source a replacement element and see how it goes.
Btw, Model number is WDL540 G(UK).C

Thanks – not familiar with forum layout on tapatalk.
I tested the element connections with multimeter, I don’t have a continuity test but I get no resistance reading when connected (1 is the default) but I see changes when testing on other conductive surfaces.
Should I see a resistance from the element?
Thanks, Alex.

Thanks – I will try this and get the model/commercial code. Where can I find the list of Fxx codes with corresponding lights?

Am I right in thinking I can test the dryer element with multimeter, no circuit would suggest its faulty? If there is a circuit then that would suggest PCB issue?
Thanks, Alex.
