Apologies for the delay in saying thanks – I’ve been offline for a few days. Thank you very much!

I just went off and had (very gentle) probe with a bit of kitchen roll and a cocktail stick and it looks like that could indeed have been the problem. Water above the drainage hole drained immediately and it looks like there was some murky gunk down there. Would that be enough, do you think or is there a means of giving it a better clean out?

Once again, money saved by a quick post here. Like several others I keep enthusiastically recommending this site over on the moneysavingexpert forums. Wouldn’t consider buying a new appliance or getting someone in without getting advice here first!

But aren’t you guys in the trade doing yourselves out of business by being so very helpful?
