    Re: LG F1402 making noise

Now sorted. Found the technical manual and put it in QC test mode, working through each test. I think himself had wired up the pump incorrectly, but not certain.

Link to manuals in case anyone else needs it

    Re: LG F1402 making noise

Taken it apart, tested the pumps and replaced the drain pump with one of the two the last engineer took out.

Cleaned out filter, blown through drain hose – all clear there. Still getting the same problem. Circulation pump is working and the drain pump was working when it went back in. The panel is indicating it is stopping at the rinse stage – water is sprayed in, the drum turns and rinses, then the message comes up to check the drain hose.

We have just successfully run the ‘tub clean’ function, and water has been pumped out with no problem, indicating the drain pump is functioning correctly. Well and truly stuck now!

    Any ideas please?

    Re: LG F1402 making noise

In the end I called an engineer to fix the pump. He said he wasn’t sure which one had gone so replaced both, hypothesising he would save me the labour costs if the other one went soon after.

I now have the grinding noise again, just started on a load this morning, which stopped with a message coming up to say to check the drain valve and filter.

When I took the cap off the drain valve, nothing came out, which is most unusual.

I then undid the filter…… Still looking the floor as I type!

My question: could there be a blockage in the drain valve that is causing the machine to not empty? Just put it in a quick wash and it has stopped during the rinsing stage. No message, but I paused it and started again and it seemed to move on a bit, but now stopped again.

    Another new pump required? Two?

Your advice would be most welcome

We took apart the pressure chamber and found it to be pretty well blocked. A good clean out and it it is running like new again.

    Thanks

Is there a way of testing it? We have just moved the red float (Is that the aquastop?) and it’s running again.

Re: Samsung American Fridge/Freezer, fridge not cooling.

Many thanks for your reply, Bob. I was told just to defrost it, although not told why and also that it would be fine once I had done this.

The engineer said they could speed up the process of defrosting, but it would be costly. Any way of speeding it up myself?
I don’t have another freezer to decant it into!

    Thanks very much for that.

This is the video I was going to try to work from.

    Re: LG F1402 making noise

Thank you. Is it repairable? We’re in Kent and have a lot of limescale – could limescale be the issue?

I’ve had a look through the spare parts and can’t see a circulation pump – could someone please advise me?

I have seen there is a youtube video to replace this, or would I be better off getting a professional in?

    Thanks

Re: DC07 – wand stuck in handle

Wow, thanks for the super quick reply – even if it was not what I wanted to hear!

That mean I am going to have to get a new hose AND handle/wand. I might just make do with the sliding hose and save my money. I’ve had the beast for around 4 years now, so it is bound to die soon anyway!

But thanks again for taking the time out to tell me to give up 😉

Re: Cannot find model number on Whirlpool washing machine

It’s me again – still without a model number.

I am now having an intermitant problem with the machine filling. It is working it’s way through the cycle and agitating, but not always filling when it should. I have taken the hoses off and cleaned out the inlet filters and can sometimes get it to fill by changing the dial from large to small load and then back again.

I have read elsewhere that it could be the water solenoid but would not know how to order a new one or find how to replace it due to a lack of model number!

Any advice, or is it time to call in the professionals?

Re: Cannot find model number on Whirlpool washing machine

Ahhh – that could make sense. In my search for the model number I have pulled the machine out twice and put it back. Since doing that it has worked ok – I wonder whether I have inadvertantly moved the waste pipe to a better position?

Thanks for your help – this forum is brilliant! I shall be back if my problem returns (and recommending it to my friends)

Re: Cannot find model number on Whirlpool washing machine

Thanks John, bear with me, I’m seriously non-technical

When I ran it last night it wouldn’t move past the filling stage – constantly filling, but only reaching a certain level (i guess it has a sensor that drains it). I tried putting it on spin, which it did, but kept spinning at the same speed – not getting faster as it usually does, and the spin just didn’t end!

However, this morning I changed some of the other settings, eg small load etc, and it worked fine and I’ve managed a few loads without any problems since then.

The fault seems intermittent, which is never a good thing for diagnosis! Any advice would be welcomed.

    Thanks again

Re: Cannot find model number on Whirlpool washing machine

Thanks for the reply. I’ve looked there and that is where the space/screw holes for a plate is – but no model number! I don’t ever remember seeing one there and have never fished one out of the machine.

    Any more ideas?
