    Re: Hotpoint WMA46 problems

Have the same problem looking at the door latch METALFLEX ZV-446 from a GORENJE WA50140 washing machine
Had it on its front to get at the back heater element. Found there was no fault with the heater as it read 28 ohms. My problems in a cold cycle must have been down to too low water pressure – fixed that by moving the tiny tag on the pipe t joint with pliers to the right pressure. (I was measuring the pressure from the tap rather than the intlet assuming it was all the same!).

But I think the concrete block moved forwards too much while messing about at the back, and now get a flashing light start button, and the Higher water level (Water plus) button is on, which indicates the door latch is open.

So have taken the door latch off, looked it over and it looks ok to me.
But there seems to be tiny dents in the plastic holding the concrete block. Directly across from this is a tiny popout pcb board. I assume its the control circuit. This ties in with what people are saying above, and the fact that I had a large concreate block maybe pressing into it from laying the machine down on its front.

It seems unbelievable that Gorenje havent sealed the pcb mainboard (behind the controls) and components with a case. Any water gets in and thats it – Or, if the machine tilts forwards enough the pcb is placed under stress!

I will have to pop out the popout pcb and trace all the tracks and repair with silver pcb paint!
