ParticipantRight its fixed. Turns out after once again removing the outlet tube off the bottom of the drum I found the problem.
A loyalty card had somehow found its way into the drum and was floating around in the bottom. On empty it was being sucked down and was closing off the outlet starving the pump. The empty cycle was taking longer than it should so it went into error.
Its was only luck that I spotted it through the hole.
Its done 2 full washes no problem.
Wish id seen Murvs tip about the error code on the temp stack sooner . lesson learnt for future.
So it would seem that on an Ariston if all the lights are flashing then there’s an error somewhere go find it.
The swollen capacitor on the board seems not to have been related. Its replaced anyway. Thanks iadom for keeping me on the straight and narrow, really appreciated your input.
Learnt heaps about washers though 🙂
All the best from New Zealand. Stay safeamplegirthage
Participantwell its done a full cycle on heat and not failed. The pump sounds like it struggling. Flow very weak Wondering if the ball in the outlet pipe is sticking and starving it of water. Or the pumps buggered.
Will pull it off tomorrow and take a look. No flashing lights though.. progress 🙂amplegirthage
ParticipantThanks for your input mate. Its doing a hot wash now and the waters heated so not the element. Nothing like watching a wash cycle for boredom 🙂

Participantresistance was 27.5 ohms but i didn’t check to earth . Schoolboy error. Its just going through a hot wash cycle to see where it fails. will check it once it does.
I’ve got the outlet hose out so i can see the flow on emptying.amplegirthage
ParticipantHi iadom Thanks for the reply. Yes its exactly the same Cap and correct polarity. I’m not convinced about that issue. The lights aren’t flickering as i’ve seen in some youtube vids. They seem to be too rhythmic. Makes me think its a fault thats been detected.
The pump doesn’t seem to have much flow to it. Wondering if it isn’t emptying quick enough and its going into error.amplegirthage
ParticipantSo its not the heating element or the temp sensor. They all meter out ok.
Talking to myself here 🙂 ah wellamplegirthage
ParticipantInteresting.. its just done a cold wash cycle without fault. Going to check the element later. Anything else I should look at while I’m in there??
