But you’re not allowed to remove them from tips these days and I know the Baumatic spider is poor cast iron and corrodes very quickly, but I still need one!

Hi, Thanks for the response. I don’t think it’s a motor failure as it had been kicking at some points in the cycle for some time but would still wash & spin. After the arcing which may have been due to some water dripping down when I turned it over it has not worked and I have replaced the o.c 6K2 resistor which I thought might be the problem to no avail. Can’t seem to locate the correct replacement pcb. Apart from buying a new w/m, I’ll continue to look for the fault. I can get a triac from China! (I’ve had ICs & TV LOPT from there before & they seem to be reliable). Regards.

Since yesterday, I have discovered one of the 2 7W 6.2Kohm resisters on the pcb is o.c. and there is a burn mark next to the anode of D16 – looks like it had arced to the heatshield. The triac MAC 223 A8 looks ok with a test meter. I can get another resistor but anyone know where to get the triac (or similar TXE 10L60)?
