    Re: hotpoint fdw65a error codes

I came home tonight and though I would give it one last try before doing anymore testing. It worked!!, I’ve now run it though 2 wash cycles without fault.

Hopefully it is now sorted, if not i’ll try the items you suggested and then get back if i need anymore advice.

Thank you ever so much for you help, Andy

Thanks for the quick reply, yes I agree after my continious problems with a washing machine and now the dishwasher I won’t be buying another hotpoint made item again…..

I’m fairly capable with a test meter but unfamiliar with dishwashers. Would you have any figures I could check for on the various components and any useful pointers to help me identify what is wrong.

I assume the pressure switch is in the water supply pipe after the pump, do you know if it is a signal/no signal switch or a variable voltage return signal? and I assume I could just bypass circuit board and supply power directly to the pump to check it works.

Are the comments about the NTC relevant to my problem?

    Re: hotpoint fdw65a error codes

I have the same fault codes as this previous post, ie lights 3 & 5 (Eco and Pre-wash) with the filter not blocked.

I previously had fault code 4 & 6, tested and no continuity on heater element, heater replaced (checked new component and 26 Ohm’s as expected). At this point the filter was blocked, which I unblocked, I also check all the pipes down below and drain pipe for blockages, all clear prior to switching the machine back on post heater replacment (I didn’t check the internals of the pump or other components only the interconnecting rubber hoses).

The current state is the machine runs for about 20 seconds when switch off/on, it pumps out and appears to stall at the point of refilling for a wash cycle, with fault lights 3 and 5 flashing.

I haven’t checked the door thermostat yet, when checking for location is there a Ohms check voltage I can do on it to confirm it’s OK?

Any advice on what to look at next?
