Re: Bosch SGS5312GB – electrical problem?

Here’s a link to some photos of the burnt out board:

    http://pbckt.com/sm.pnp

Tracing the wires back from the damaged area, they both point to the on/off switch. Is there some way I can test this to see whether it’s going to do it again? I don’t want to put the repaired board back in and have it blow straight away.

    Thanks

    Thanks Penguin

Part of the pcb looked burnt out, and there was soot on the inside of the case. The conductive coating on two of the connector tabs had disappeared (melted?). The wires from these two points connect to the dispenser actuator in the door, and the on/off switch. Does this mean the switch might be faulty?

Re: Bosch SGS5312GB/12 doesn’t stop or drain

    Hi everybody

I’d just like to thank everybody who offered me advice on this problem. My dishwasher is now working again (although my computer’s now on the blink, hence delay in posting this, but that’s another story…).

It was the pcb in the end. I couldn’t find any blockages in the fill/drain system, but one of the connections on the board was burnt out. Not being an expert in fixing these things, I sent it off to QER, who charge civilians like me £54 to repair – less than half the cost of a new board. Thanks Penguin 45 for the recommendation.

One final question – when refitting the door front panel, I can’t work out where the two grooved plastic spacers go…someone in another thread said they fit over the hinges, but I can’t find a location that makes sense. It works fine without them, but I guess the panel is more vulnerable to dents. Can anyone help please?

Best regards & congratulations on an extremely useful and well-organised website – if only all public services were this intelligently run… 😀

    Thanks for the reply.

When I hold down the reset buttons, the display does revert to zero, but it doesn’t start draining. Does this mean the board is dead, or might it be something else?

    Best regards

Thanks a lot for the link – it’s very useful, but the bad news appears to be that if I can’t reset the machine (which I can’t), then the Module Circuit Board needs to be replaced. Is this expensive?

Re. the water – I’ll check the sink coupling. Could you tell me how I get to the fill/drain matrix please?

Lost marbles sounds bad 😥 …can anything be done?

    Best regards

The quick wash is taking longer than usual – I haven’t timed it, but after maybe an hour and a half it was still running. Also, if I reset the cycle, the display panel changes to a zero, but it shows no signs of stopping.

    Hi Penguin 45

I’m not sure about the heat. I found it still running several hours after setting it off. It wasn’t hot the way it normally would be, but I assumed it had cooled down…
