Hi Dave, Parts are on the way, I will let you know if the fix works.
Thanks,

Cheers, I will give it a go about the resistor, do you think it’s carbon film, metal film or metal oxide a bit hard to tell and not sure if it’s 1/2w or 1w….

Hi Dave,
Yes you were right, I found that the 1w? resister on the main board just before the cable that runs to the smaller board has popped. It’s a little tricky making out the value due to discolouration but it is low. Also not quite sure of what type of resistor it is, carbon film, metal film or metal oxide.
Would you suspect both converter and regulator chips have gone?

Thanks Dave,
It looks as if the problem is with the main board as there is no power getting from the main board to the smaller one. I will try the link you gave me. thanks for your help.

Yep, I’m starting to think that would be my option. I resent the idea of trashing the whole machine and getting an new one, especially after what it cost in the first place.
Other than this fault it’s a good machine.AndyMunn

Hi iadom,
Would I be right in thinking you had to replace the whole module?AndyMunn
ParticipantRe: ISE W288 eco No Power
Yes, power comes in through connectors 3-4 then through the large caps and resistor and on to a separate PCB with the power switch and components that drop the power to a 16v and 5v supply and back to the main PCB. I’ve done a search online to see if the smaller PCB can be got hold of but with no luck and I’m not sure about testing and replacing components on this, especially the surface mounted stuff.

Hi Dave, yes both live and neutral have continuity and power is going to the control module. Power is leaving the control module and on to the MCU but not returning as that circuit is not switched to on by the control module. The module itself does not light up the display or respond when the switch is on.
