Re: Ariston Margherita 2000 – I also have a problem!

Hi pro’s, I have posted on this thread before about a year ago and managed to fix the problem so thought I’d pose another ques.
Our washing is starting to come out not clean and sometimes a little smelly.
I have watched the machine when it has done a cycle and noticed that the door window doesn’t get warm at all, I also opened the drawer mid cycle to see if any hot water was going through and it wasn’t. Now I am confused as the machine has a hot water feed, so why isn’t hot water allowed through the drawer?! And could this be why our clothes aren’t getting cleaned?!

Any ideas gratefully appreciated, please keep up the good comments.

It carries on filling after I start the programme for ages which is why I tried moving the programme on manually, then at the spin section it stopped filling and moved round to start position again, but yes the time that it started to spin slightly it was still filling.

I am going to start putting it all back together today, and maybe try again to see what happens, if not then you think its time to shop?
Any recommendations on reliable models? I now have the bosses permission to get one that isn’t silver!!!!!

    Thanks for reply

Re: Ariston Margherita 2000 – I also have a problem!

Hi all I’ll try and keep this as short as poss, I have an AWD12S Advantage and have been experiencing troubles recently, it started when the cold weather came and my waste pipe got blocked with some leftover water that hadn’t been pushed out (I have to route the waste pipe upwards slightly before it gets to the drain which is through a hole in the kitchen wall) and froze in the pipe. Anyway I flushed it through and it seemed to work for a wash and then started going tits up again.

I select programme ‘8’ for example it fills with wtaer and doesn’t stop, if I physically move the dial on one notch is starts to spin then stops and the dial turns 360 back to setting number ‘8’ and stops. I get a steady flash then, but if I move the dial to the stop section of programme 8 I get an on/off continual flashing with no pause (did try to count the flashes but they were flashing way way to quick).

Things i have done up until now are:
take off filter and checked cleanliness:- was fine as only replaced it less than a year ago
took off metal casing at top of machine to de-fluff as seems to be a common problem on this thread:- again clean as we don’t often use the heater side of the machine
disconnected all hoses connected to filter from drum and cleaned out:- nothing offensive that would stop machine
removed and checked brushes:- easily still 20mm on each brush and no sticking
took off what I think is pressure switch hose from top and blew down (as mentioned in previous reply):- a little water came out from filter at bottom (obviously when it was still connected)
checked all electrical connections:- nothing unusually loose or burnt out

Now running out of options and have a feeling that someone is gonna say that a main computer is up the swanny, and maybe its time to look for a new machine?! Either way I live in hope that the old girl is fixable as I have a 3rd littl’en on the way and the back log of food/dribble stained clothes is getting ridiculous!!

    Thanks in advance anyone.
