ParticipantRe: Bosch WTE84107GB dryer stops during cycle
Hi
Liked the suggestion about the loose mains plug. Always check the basics!
The dryer is located in the garage and has plenty of space around it for airflow. However, it does look like some sort of overheating problem possibly on the module PCB.
After the machine shuts down it stays dead for several minutes even after the mains input has beed switched off then on again. It looks as though there is some thermal over-current protection on the PCB.
Anyway, as I am now resigned to buying a new module (at half the cost of a new machine) I removed the existing one and looked at it under a maginfier but the soldered joints look OK and no evidence of hot components. What I did find was that the contacts on the motor drive connector X11-3 had a thick oxide layer indicating heating. Cleaned up the pins, refitted the module but made no difference. Ah well.
I’ll let you know how the new module performs.
Thanks for your input

Hi
Thanks for responding.
OK. The FD number is FD 8505 200329
When all the lights are off it’s as if the machine is dead, the start light is off as well.
If I switch off then on again I get either the start light flashing on some occasions or still completely dead on others.
The completely-dead situation recovers after a few minutes to a flashing start light.
