ParticipantRe: AEG 8081: Error code “Cd” and machine pumping
Well, time’s flown by but I’ve still been unable to find any additional help with this one. I keep looking but I’ve not come across anything to date. Unfortunately, I’m in a position to wash up by hand now but not splash out on a call-out 🙁
I got the machine powering up again with the replacement of the control board fuse and it’s still got the first replacement in (I got a few extra ones, just in case) and it’s not blown in all attempts to sort this one out.
All help gratefully received.
Thank you 🙂

ParticipantRe: AEG 8081: Error code “Cd” and machine pumping
I’m hoping this additional information may help get some response.
With the door open, I can select “Pre Wash“, which shows “11” (minutes) on the indicator panel. Closing the door commences the program but it just pumps out continuously, with the display counting down to “10“. Less than a couple of minutes later, the program will end with “00” showing and “End“.
It’s as though it’s skipping to the end of the program as it can’t complete. In all this, no water enters the machine but it does pump out when you pop in a bowl full.
The “Cd” errors can be produced when running some of the other programs.

ParticipantRe: AEG 8081: Error code “Cd” and machine pumping
I’ve now cleared the fault memory and ran the individual component test on the vent switch (wax valve / “flap”) & fan: they both operate fine.
However, when the test times out after 20 seconds, it reverts to the “Cd” error with the drain pump running again. This does stop after a minute or so but does not clear the problem.
The drain pump’s working as it’s pumping water out fine. It only operates when the dishwasher is switched on on the control panel, never when not (which would indicate a problem with the float switch).
I’ve tried the service test program which doesn’t appear to get past the pump out stage then ends with “00” on the indicator panel & pump stopped, like it’s skipped to the end.
Please help!

ParticipantRe: AEG 8081 : Will not power up
Replacing the sub-miniature fuse on the control board (next to the transformer) has now brought the machine back to life (nice to see it was socketed and not directly soldered).
With the door open, then switching on the machine, it appears as normal, with all the programs lit up. However, when the door is closed, it immediately sounds like it’s pumping out, with all the control panel program LEDs flashing, with error code “Cd” flashing in the indicator panel, together with “Rinsing”, “Final Rinse” & “End”. The only actions that will cease the pump are switching the machine off or opening the door; turning back on or closing the door starts the pump off again.
The error code brings me back to the wax valve I suspected in my second post. I’ll double-check my findings concerning it but I’m not sure why the pumping does not stop as yet.
Any further help is much appreciated.
Thanks 🙂

ParticipantRe: AEG 8081 : Will not power up
Went back to this today (after quite some time!) and discovered the control board fuse (T2A/250V sub-miniature, with “V” logo) very well hidden under a large resin blob. The meter across it shows it’s blown/open circuit.
I’ll replace the anti-surge/slow-blow fuse (will get a few, just in case). Also, since it appeared to have done all or part of the drying cycle, I would suspect it’s the drying fan or element that might be responsible.
All responses gladly received 🙂
Cheers!

ParticipantRe: AEG 8081 : Will not power up
I’ve read up that the wax valve that operates when drying should normally be closed circuit when cold. It tested at 998 ohm. In place, it visually appears O.K. and I’ve not checked it internally as yet.
Since it appeared to complete the wash then dry cycle before the machine went dead, would this cause the machine to remain in this state? I suppose a short across the component would test this if the valve should be closed circuit as normal. Anyone had any experience of these wax valves on same or similar machines?
