mmmmm went home from work lunchtime and had another fiddle so to speak.. the noise is just coming from the flap when you depress the lever thingy.. i removed the ice bucket (which is still full to the brim with cubes) and again pressed the lever while watching the “cog” and nothing happens 🙁
did try to move it round while pressing but it appears to be stuck solid and did not seem to want to move.
so as you say.. either the motor is kaput or maybe a wire has come off somewhere while it was being moved ??
is there a “how to remove the motor housing assembly” type of instruction booklet anywhere..
did try to phone whirlpool, their response was “we do not have a technical support department, you will have to have an engineer come out”

Hi Martin.. plenty of ice cubes, but the “Auger” doesn’t turn at all… i have tried it on both the crushed ice setting and the normal cube one but it doesnt do anything..
like i mentioned earlier, it’s as if the motor is stuck or jammed ?
do you know if there is a way of resetting it so to speak.
    thanks
