Re: Bosch Classixx Dishwasher – SMS40C12GB/13 Type SI6P1B

    Dave,
Thankyou – just what I’ve been looking for!
Within my limited knowledge of electronics, I have checked both motors, and the heater connection – I can’t find a short anywhere. The drain pump was clean and rotated freely.
I’m about to rebuild it – could be interesting getting it down off the saw-bench – it was in partial kit form went it went up there….

…On immediate inspection, the tray is full of HOT water (dirty) and the tablet release has been recently triggered – can be found almost unused on the catch shelf on the upper rack….

    Hi Dave,
no, the machine is connected to cold only, the water in the tray was hot, so that side is working.
On trying to restart the machine after the first failure, the display lit up, showed the remaining time (1:01 on a 1:25 program), a motor/pump tried to start, and immediately tripped the earth leakage.

After that, I left it to a service technician as I was at work – he said everything was wet (bull, I had pulled the machine out myself and there were no leaks or wet patches evident). He re-made the supply connections, I’m told (I’ve had to connect two standard hoses as the supply point is really awkward to get at). Whatever he did, he reset the machine, and I tried it again last night. This time I chose the longest “Eco” program (3 hours 25? min) and went to bed. About twenty minutes later, the house plugs went dead, and it was the earth leakage again. I isolated the machine and left it as described – hot water in the tray, and the tablet on the catch tray.

On starting to strip it this morning I have found nothing unusual – all connections were dry, no leaks evident anywhere.
Have disconnected everything I can see, but am unable to separate the tray from the box. I will post pics if they will help.

    Thanks for your swift response!
    Chris B
