Took the plunge and came up with the following:

Chamber where the pressure switch pipe fits onto was full of crud. Along with most of the rest of the little crevices scattered throughout the machine. Disassembled, cleaned and reassembled.

Checked the solenoid. Closes correctly, so i can only assume that with the crud in the system the pressure switch was not activating correctly.

Fitting where the top sprayer connects to the water guide had a crack in it. This allowed water to seep past the o ring and nut and into the sound deadening mat. The mat was damp and moisture had run down the side of the cabinet into the bottom tray. Now just have to get the part! easier said than done. $3 for the part, $14 to send it to me from ADL. trying to source one closer.

The PCB has been replaced under the recall.
