Re: Fisher and Paykel 708 Won”t Spin

    Thanks for the info.
I’ve bridged the OOB switch- still no joy. Cut off the connectors to the switch and soldered the ends together- machine still mostly will not spin.
However I resoldered the PCB connector on the motor control board- now the machine mostly WILL spin.
I still don’t understand why this problem never occurred until I replaced the stator and position sensor.
    Thanks again.

Re: Fisher and Paykel 708 Won”t Spin

    Thanks for your reply.
I’ve checked the bias spring. It is attached and appears OK.
I can get the machine to spin out (sometimes) by disconnecting the power, reinserting the connections on the motor control board and reconnecting the power.
I have checked the lid switch and OOB switch with an ohmmeter. Despite both checking out OK, I’ve shorted both to be doubly sure.
When the machine fails or to be precise it starts to spin then slows and stops and tries again. On the second time it stops with the spin LED on and beeps continuously.
The error code (made by pushing down wash temp then power) is 00101011 (43?).
To me the machine seems to think it still has water in it (though empty) or an obstruction and shuts down to protect the motor.
Since it washes and rinses ok I assume there’s no obstruction. Is there a way of checking the water level sensor? Thanks again for any help.
