Re: Buying Washing machine with superior spin performance

The one snag with the Mieles, apart from price, is that they are wider than standard and I would need to modify the space in the kitchen units so I was looking at other options. Also they seem to be very speicific about cleaning cycles and detergents. I have seen no sign of scale buildup or other gunge in my old Bosch machine despite hard water. Also we use very minimal detergent or bleach, to avoid allergy issues. We have been using the dreaded washer balls for years now and I think this helps. Cleaning performance is adequate but not perfect, but this is better than the effects we had from using detergent.
I have seen no sign of damage from the use of these original, cushioned ecoballs, which don’t disintegrate like the new versions, but I know mnufacturers don’t like them. Do you know of any modern models with flimsy drums which may be damaged by them as they clunk around?
