    Re: hotpoint fdw65a error codes

Luckily the layout of the kitchen meant that it was layed on its LHS – Phew! I’m happy that the drain pump is working fine so my plan remains to take out a replacement heater on spec to see if that sorts the problem. If not I’ll then get a new PCB when we are next in England. I note your comment re the price of the heater element an will be aware of imitations!

    Many thanks for your help.

Hi Young Jim – Thanks for your prompt response. IT’s hot over there and I laiod the machine on its side and took the base off but that looked like a back!

I can confirm that I cleaned out and checked the drain pump and that is working fine if I “jump” the programme onto the rinse cycle. As I say everything works up until it reaches the main wash cycle when it just hangs circulating the water and making the occasiona beep. That is when we stop it after a good while and oper the front to find it full of cold water. What actually triggers the start of the drin pump at the end of the wash cycle? How do I find out what reading I should get on the water heater to see if it is faulty? As I can get these in UK for around £25 I’d planned to take one over on spec.

    Re: hotpoint fdw65a error codes

Hi – Its my first time on a forum and I’m over 60 so please bear with me. I have a Hotpoint FDW65A dishwasher S/N 80422 0384 which I bought about 3 years ago and had shipped over to Africa. We only sorted our house out last year andtried the dishwasher for the first time. Initial attempts unsuccessful so I took of the back to investigate and found a rust red “clag” in the salt resevoir which was probably a nest of some sort. I stripped it down and cleaned it and tried again. Everything seemed to work normally to start with but it never reached the pumping out stage after the main wash and when I openned the front the water was not hot. My assumption is that the heater has failed and so as it is not getting up to tempreature the pump out is not initiated so I plan to change the water heater. Does this sound sense and are there any other parts which might need to be changed as well?
