    Re: servis caress 1600 ‘a’

You are all probably right. I will wait till I have fitted the new belt and report back. It will take 7 days to arrive in my local shop. I think they are supplied from the dark side of the moon. The model number is M3016A and it is on a wooden floor. One thing I did try sucessfully was to get it to spin at 1600rpm empty so I don’t think that it is the control module, just an over sensitive OOB control.
If replacing the belt fails I am going to buy a new machine but what? I do not mind paying for a good machine but how do you know what’s good.
    Thanks all.
    Bill.

    Re: servis caress 1600 ‘a’

I have contacted Servis via the help line but to no avail. The lady at Servis immediately knew what I was talking about and suggested that I clean the filter and renew the belt. I quote ”it was normal for these machines to do this. It is built in protection for the bearings. There is nothing they can do about it. There was a sheet of explaining this in the instruction booklet and I must have known that this machine had OOB control before I bought the machine” They just don’t want to know.
Surley this can not be right as the machine clearly does not do what it is advertised to do. Spin at 1600rpm. What use is a machine with great bearings if it does not spin dry the washing. I am going to call the consumer protection people. (I have also ordered a new belt)

Thank you for your replies. I will tighten the belt and clean the filter and report back. If I do have to buy a new wash/drier what do you recomend as a replacement of similar size to the servis.
