Big pressure on here to get it sorted so I have decided to invest in a new machine
Going to go for the Bosch again, series 6 which I think is still made in Germany
Thank you again for the assistance, this forum is a great resource

Thanks Andy for the comprehensive reply
I have completed your 3 suggestions but unfortunately I am still in trouble
I replaced the carbon bushes (154740), the old ones had about a third left so not quiet down to the wire. I checked the hose and chamber that activates the pressure switch and this seems fine. When I put on the machine the fill and drain cycles seems to be working OK.
However it continues to start and stop the drum almost immediately on either wash or spin cycles.

    Hi eletrofix
I took the motor apart to have a look at the tachometer and the wiring seems fine, no issues with the continuity. When I remove the armature the magnet just inside the bearing is in two segments but this does not look like a break as the edges are smooth but not sure. Is this the possible ¨broken magnet” you mentioned above? Is there a way to confirm with the multimeter if the tachometer is working correctly ?

Again thank you both for your assistance
    Billy
