    Re: Hotpoint BF1620 Dishwasher Error

Just to let you know how it went on, incase it helps anybody else…
It was the correct pcb. Ended up sloting the mounting holes slightly on the new pcb to allow the button to line up and work. It test ran ok, however ended up with a flooded base? Had not touched anything else? Found the bottom wash arm nut had come very loose allowing water into base. Tighten this up and then all ok…yippee no more washing dishes by hand. Thanks for all your help, merry Xmas 😀 .

    I purchased a C00143206.

I’m going to have a go at swapping the pcb mounting bases to see if that makes any difference (from old to new).

    Re: Hotpoint BF1620 Dishwasher Error

Having trouble fitting newly arrived pcb. Leds line up and fit, however the programme button doesn’t line up and won’t press switch on the pcb?
When I refit the old pcb back it works fine every time? The prog button will work on the new pcb but only in a position that the screw holes don’t line up?!

Can’t really see a difference in the pcbs, although there must be a slight difference. Have looked at the program button mechanism and it seems ok, however worryingly I have a small plastic section about 30mm in length which I’m not sure what it’s purpose is or where it goes? Could this be the missing link? looks a bit like |——-|.

Good news is that fault has cleared, but can’t use due to prog. button not working!

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Ta.

None taken, have checked for earth faults and it seems to point to pcb. Serial number is 506062898 (of machine). Appreciate your help.

Thanks. Insulation checks? Do you mean checking from the actual heater casing to earth? Sorry if this is obvious…

    Re: Hotpoint BF1620 Dishwasher Error

Finally found time to investigate. I have found what I think to be the heating element as described. After disconnecting and checking across contacts I get around 26-30 ohms. Not sure if this is ok and points to pcb, if someone could advise I would be grateful?
    Thanks in advance.

Checked the heating element and had problems getting a reading. Fluctuated above 100 ohms to mostly o/c. Decided to order a new one; fitted yesterday and has worked fine since. Thanks again to anybody who has given me help and advice. 😀

Re: Gorenje BD 8860E Electric Cooker fault

Well I spoke too soon. Having replaced the temperature switch and thermal cut out, it worked for a short while but has once again failed? All the connections look ok and sound. I’m suspecting the main oven heating element – even though it looks visually ok. Can these have intermitant faults? Can anybody please advise what resistance should be across the element once removed, before I order a new one?
    Thanks in advance.

Re: Gorenje BD 8860E Electric Cooker fault

Thanks for advice, have been on holiday so only just checked out. It looks like the contact is u/s (badly burnt) on the temperature switch of the main oven. It was identical to the smaller top oven temperature switch. so I swapped the back of the switches and the top oven now works ok. I will e-mail spares to see if I can just order the contacts or I need a new switch too?

    Thanks for your help!

😀 Thanks, Had machine in bits this afternoon and found a lot of debris in the pump, including little coloured beads!? Managed to clean everything out, and put it all back and now it works fine.
    Thanks for the advice.
    John.
