thanks – do you think it’s worth spending the £40-50 call out charge for an engineer to diagnose just in case it’s something a lot cheaper (based on the symptoms mentioned and troubleshooting steps done so far) ?

well I called a repair company in case i need to call someone out. On the phone when describing the problem the receptionist checked with an engineer and said maybe machine needs rebalancing as the issue does not happen on an empty wash.
but alas i tried an empty wash today 30degrees easy wash shows as 47min estimated. got the same issue. counts down to 1min remaining but at 1 min remaining the led is still on the wash led lit. it still shows 1 min remaining for some 10 more mins. then shows some 27 mins remaining, finally finished the wash prob about 2 hours from the start. when i phoned bosch they verbally said it does not sound like a drainage issue but anyway will need an engineer. The lady did say it could be electronics e.g. the board for example esp with timer jumping times. When i asked how much board is and if economically viable she checked and main board no longer avail as machine was 10yrs old this march.
now at wits end what to do – might look like a new machine needed.

Martin – I did this and had a look inside albeit it kept me up till 3am. I got to the sump hose. i was not sure about taking it out but did give it a squeeze and check nothing blocked. Did not get any impression anything was blocked inside it. (thanks again – Feel confident now as managed to get to that sump hose).
Here’s the strange part did a wash this morning – well less than half a load with a bed sheet + some towels. Display est 47 mins. It finished practically on time, around 55 mins. The Mrs did a wash later and this was a full load and she said that took 2 hours on the same programme. I’ll test again.
If this is what it is could it be the machine needs “re-balancing” ?

Martin – I’m armed with a Torx screwdriver set i jsut got from screwfix. T20 scredriver looks good.
* I’ve drained machine will remove cold water inlet and unplug.
* Easy enough to take front panel off on this machine?
(I previously saw an espare general video for removing sump hose on an indesit that talked about accessing it from the bottom – although on their video there was no base plate on their machine).
* I’ll try front cover – do I need to undo the 2 screws the door catch goes into as well?Many Thanks,

ok I’ve not done this before – i’m hoping it’s easy to do. I can get to the thin corrugated drain hose and I will start there. Do i need to dismantle anything e.g. back of the machine to get to other parts e.g. sump hose.

ahh but an empty load maintenance wash is finished on time. could it still be a drainage issue.

just wondering if any further views on this i.e. why this machine has started taking double the time for washing cycles. thanks Bob

Tried a wash and it still takes an excessive time – 2hours instead of 1 hour for example. We then tried an empty wash with no soap and that was ok on the same cycle i.e. finished in 1 hour. the mrs is convinced it’s the same programme and washing load that used to take the correctly stated amount of time….Hmmm Where do i troubleshoot next?

Filter plug came out 🙂 my neighbour had an adjustable wrench. There was a little water and some limescale although not much limescale. It was those limescale flakes you see in kettles where no descaling was done. A little bit limescale on the filter plug as well (i..e just a few flakes). I cleaned the filter plug in hot water and it’s clean now.
So there was nothing there causing a blockage. maybe the filter plug was too tight from last time it was closed?
We will try a wash tonight but i dont think anyting that came out after opening the filter i.e. some water and limescale flakes will fix the problem. In any case will try a wash first to see if it’s not taking 2 hours for a 1 hour wash anymore.
In case you have any other thoughts – please advise.

hi both,
Ahh good to know the 2 issues likely related.
“You could use a pair of pliers to gradually ease the filter” If the plastic that turns the filter cap breaks when i try – am i Stuffed lol.It’s flimsy and I broke off a 2mm corner with a light touch of screwdriver and hammer – partner stopped me going any further.
If i want to start at removing the base plate where should i get appropriate torque screwdriver from? I saw espares do them.

btw: watching the washing machine – the same wash cycle now says spin 8 mins left. it was on wash with 1 min left for best part of 30-40mins.
Should the initial estimate on the display be accurate i.e. if it says 1 hour – the whole wash should be finished in 1 hour?Cheers,

I have a Bosch Bosch WF02866GB (Bosch Classix Logix 1400 Express) and a wash cycle estiamtyed at start time was 1 hour. It’s washing now on 60 degrees easy care. It was suppsed to finish 20 mins ago i.e. that would have been 1 hour. for the last 20mins tiem remaining shows as 1 min. The wash led is currently lit and has not moved the the next led down = ready.
Any ideas please? partner complaining that washing takes 2hours and used to be just over an hour.
