OK It’s confession time, whilst investigating top latch (loop) I realised the top tray was out of alignment! It turns out it became detached on the left hand side and when secured (clipped back on) again that side was slightlty further forward and therefore the door was not fully closing! I can’t tell you who’s fault it was but she is VERY sorry.

Clive & Pengy, thanks for taking the time to help this hopeless DIY person

    Regards
    Bob 😀

    Hi Pengy,
I have now looked at that and it is working o.k. when pushed the latch closed and the machine started, it just doesn’t seem to want to latch on the ‘loop’ on the machine side. This ‘loop’ looks o.k. i.e. in one piece.

    Hi Clive,
Thanks for your reply. The door seems to sit horizontally. The other thing I have just noticed is that even though the cycle button is off, the machine still tries to run when attempting to push the door too (is the logic ‘screwed up’).

    Regards
    Bob
