    Re: Siemens SN26M253GB

As I`ve had no replies i take it that the only option is to alter the plumbing so the tap is within reach of the dishwasher.
    Would that be correct?

Hi Martin, thanks for your latest advice. I`m beginning to wonder though whether it`s cost effective to have it repaired. I don`t know how much it would cost to have a new circulation pump fitted, if that turns out to be the cause of the problem. The machine is almost 10 years old though, bought in June 2002, and has been used almost daily since then. How long will it be till something else goes wrong?
I`ve noticed that since I pressed the two reset buttons, when it first stopped working, the 55-65 degree wash program that always took 138 minutes now takes 82 minutes. I don`t know whether that`s another fault or not.

I took both side panels off today and did two auto 55-65 degree wash cycles, each took 82 minutes. I was near enough lying on the floor shining a torch into the base looking for water leaks for most of the time. I couldn`t see any water dripping anywhere.
There was a small amount of water remaining in the recesses of the base when I started, and after the two wash cycles the water had risen by about 2 millimetre. But I couldn`t see where it was coming from. The float that shuts the water off when the machine floods was still in it`s lowest position and hadn`t moved at all.
I noticed the water had risen in the base recess below the pump on the right hand side, so I wonder if water is leaking from the bottom of the pump.Wherever the leak is, it`s a very slow one.I`m not sure what to do next, calling an engineer in may prove expensive if he has to spend time looking for the leak, then replacing the faulty part.

    Hi Martin.
I tipped the dishwasher backwards this morning, and there was a fair amount of water in the base which I had to soak up with a bath towel.
I`ve not reconnected it yet, I thought I should wait for your advice.

It looks to me like the water inlet valve might be faulty, does anyone agree?

When I said the drain pump runs constantly, I meant when the door is closed and a program is set.
When I open the door the drain pump stops.

Whenever I switch it on there is a constant humming, I presume that is the drain pump running.
