    Re: NorDmende not spinning

Looking for a replacement water pressure switch part #32025730 for this same machine as i have noticed this one is beginning to break down (makes contact only 2 out of every 3 washes.
and NO i did not blow into it as i would not risk the damage.
Even the Nordmende distributor in Dublin has not got one, said it could take up to 6 wks to get one.

    Re: NorDmende not spinning

Just an update on the Situ, which may help someone in time to come regarding this model.

I have finally got her running as she was intended!

On my own pcb the relay that controls the selected spin speed was not engaging so that board is non-serviceable. I do believe though that this more than likely a dry joint. (will run around this board with the soldering iron when time allows-modern relays rarely break down!).

On the board from Belfast, it appears that the memory chip is stuck in the drain mode. I made many attempts of resetting the module including entering and exiting the child lock setting. (maybe use the relay for my own board-spare!)

Now, The interesting but confusing bit…
I have the new board from Dublin in but…
The small plug containing the 3 pink wires from the water pressure switch, no longer goes into the last 3 connections of S3 on the board, instead they go to the FIRST connections of S1. (this is how the wires were on the Belfast board when it arrived).

BTW, Yes i did try this wiring pattern on the other Two boards without any success. Wiring it that way on my own board just runs the drain mode continuously.

As regards the Water Pressure Switch, i have been informed by a Nordmende agent that blowing into it is a waste of time and would make absolutely no difference. It is a c-type diaphragm, does NOT click and is completely dependable.

Was there 2 separate board manufacturers making the same boards in a different sequence? If patterns were changed, why? When?
The wires on the Belfast board had some wires differently coloured and the water pressure switch plug only had 2 wires so the gnd was not connected on the earler model!

    Re: NorDmende not spinning

    Oh my! The plot thickens!
The situation now is i have 3 pcb’s my own one, a used but guaranted working one from Belfast and a new one from Dublin.

Using my own module i have a wash but no spin.

Using the module from Belfast, i only have initial pump run.

Using the module from Dublin – again just initial pump run!

Now if you look at the pic of the belfast module above, you will notice that the wires were cut rather than taking the time to unclip the plugs.
I did notice that while i was undoing the plugs on it, some wires were not going to the same plugs as per on my own module.

All 3 boards are marked vestel and all 3 “Appear” the same.

Let us know whether the replacement board solves the problem please.
    Unfortunately not sce.
The board that arrived was WORSE than my own!
Thoroughly cleaned the connections and the plugs for them and applied connecting paste to ensure best connections before fitting it.
On ignition the initial pump run started, and ran, and ran….. nothing else!
Now! a good neighbor, who knows a guy in the trade is getting me a new board at cost price, so just waiting for the arrival of that.

    Re: NorDmende not spinning

I have ruled out that pressure switch as obviously it is working and only operating the water level and nothing else.(single in – single out)

As the Motor brushes are only partly worn, and it is going into the slow spin mode and attempting to kick into the high spin i have concluded that it is obviously a control system rather than the motor itself. (6 cable by the way)

This Model is a comparatively new one and the Module is rather compact. Quoted at €119, vat at 23{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} inc is rather steep.
Found a used module on ebay with the panel, controls etc. still attached and listed as “in working order” from a recycling white goods company in Belfast. I know i am taking a chance but paypal can get my money back if not. (Photo attached)
When it arrives i only have to slot it in and try it out.

This will allow me some time to check my own module for dry joints etc.

    Re: NorDmende not spinning

The pressure switch is a small black cube. Marked with a 5 point star and states “Type 7640”.
It has 3 pink wires entering on terminals marked 5v,GND & out.
I have not blown into it yet as i would like to know first if that type is safe to do so.

I have checked the motor brushes and they are only about 1/2 worn as yet.

Have looked for the Module on this model as another option could be “Dry Joints” but i guess it could be hidden behind the covers of the front controls.
