    I bought mine from local friendly independant electrical store, also for 9.95.

    I had a quick look at the board and it looks like burnt out tracks. Now I need to see which is cheaper local repair man or Hotpoint. As although I think I could change the board myself, I don’t like the sound of this configuring.

    That is what I thought, but I wondered whether there were any continuity tests I could do on switch/machine, as I don’t know which contacts on the switch should be open/closed.

    If not I guess I need to think whether it is worth getting a repair man to look at it, as I guess I am looking at a bill of ~£100, and then worry about what is going to break next. Or should I put the money towards a new machine.
