    Re: WAE26470AU-01

    Hi All,

I have inspected the carbon brushes and they are worn as predicted; to the point that the copper wire suspended within was making direct contact with the commutator.

I was surprised to find that the resistance between different pick-ups/windings on the commutator was, in every case, under 3 ohms. I must be missing something as I expected them to be electrically independent. Any advice in this regard appreciated.

    Kind regards,

    brigman

What an overwhelming response, thanks guys, I really appreciate it. It’s people like yourselves that make the UK a great place.

I’ll inspect the carbon brushes this evening to determine their state of wear.

Yes, many, many things are ridiculously expensive in Australia, bread, milk, fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, eggs to say the least. Anyone in Australia under any illusions about this should visit http://www.tesco.co.uk and price up their weekly shopping from the UK. If you only pay double what it costs in the UK, you are doing okay.
