Participantthn for all ur help i am contacting currys for a price match on the 24364G model hopefully will get for 319

ParticipantDon I might get a good deal on the 24364 Bosch through price match .. do you think a 1200 and a 1400 rpm spin will make a huge diff?
bulktrans
ParticipantDon
1) the Bosch WAE24364GB is a 1200 rpm m/c and B spin – is there a huge difference between 1200 and 1400 rpm, Just thinking that the rpm is less and the spin efficiency is also less (B) will this affect the rinsing.?
2) so is it a No for the Zanussi ZWF14069W one?
bulktrans
Participantbtw there is a ZWF14069W model available for 249 (1400 spin, AAB, 5.5 kg)?
also spin speed of 1200 and 1400 rpm – is there not a huge difference between them?

The Gorenje range is worth a look as are the Zanussi`s.
Don
sorry to be a pest any particular series in Zanussi that u could suggest? ZWF and ZWC are the series I guess – are all the ZWF models not sealed drums and are good?

Participantjust spoke to whirlpool CS and aksed re: sealed drum – they said that the drum the bearing and the tub come as a single assembly ans they were unable to understand my ‘sealed drum’ question..does this make sense?

Penguin45 wrote:Iadom put the bottom line at £350, £300 is not so bad. Personally, I wouldn’t have a current Indesit Company product given, let alone pay money for one.
The Bosch machine listed has a sealed tub, so bearing failure would require a replacement assembly. The Whirlpool I can find no info on. They’ve always been reasonably decent in the middle ground, although the spares pricing policy can often be described as larcenous.
However, I’m a repairer not a retailer, so hang fire ’til the morning. Don will be able to give you a rather more reasoned assessment of machines in your price bracket.
Penguin45.
cheers and thnx for your help once again.. I will wait for Don’s reply and then make a decision.. I guess Bosch is out due to the sealed drum . I guess Whirlpool is the current fav … lets see

iadom wrote:You need to start at around £350 or even more if possible. At £400 you are coming into good to decent machines.
BSH appliances, Bosch/Neff/Siemens are made to decent standards. some of them available with up to five years warranty, all of them have at least two year warranties.
Even some of the cheaper Bosch machines have the dreaded sealed drum which is to be avoided if at all possible.
I think there is a Seimens machine available for £399 with a five year warranty mentioned in another thread on here, a very good investment TBH.
EDIT. Here it is.
thnx for your help – we have shortlisted the following acc to our budget etc are they any good
Indesit IWC6165
Hotpoint WMF540P
BOSCH WAA28165
Whirlpool AWOD4605Plz let us know if any of the above are good and/or are these the ones with the sealed drum..
thnx for all your advice
