Quick update….it doesn’t seem to be displaying the AL01 at the moment, but has still been trying to empty itself for the last 10 minutes.
Forget the above its back again!

Thanks for the reply mate….but as the micro-switch is in the open position fitted to the machine and only goes into the closed position when water is present in the base I couldn’t see it doing any harm, I was just removing the switch from the equation in case it was faulty.
Could you please shed some light on what an Aquastop fill hose is?
If it is the one used for filling from the water supply then the answer is NO just a normal hose is fitted.
I have spoken to iadom…..who comes across as a really helpful person and is a credit to UK Whitegoods IMO (Sorry for phoning you BTW).
He has mentioned that it may be one of the boards…..but hopefully one of the Hotpoint/Indesit guys could possibly shed some more light on the matter, as I don’t really want to spend £85 for an engineer to come out just to find out it was nothing really or if it is a faulty board replace this at a lower cost.
