Here is the weird bit… If I plug the oven to a power socket, the thermostat light turns on straight away. Then, if I turn the function knob ( to any function, grill, bottom element only, etc.) the light turns off, but the light inside the oven turns on. If I turn the temperature know instead, the light turns off as well… It turns back on only when I bring the knobs back to their initial position (no function or temperature), or if both knobs are turned ( ie, grill only set to 50 degrees).

    So:

Both knobs set to zero/no function = light on constantly
One knob turned = light off
Both knobs turned = light back on.

    Hi Dave,
    thanks for your answer !

The lower element broke a while ago (before I moved in to the flat, I only realised after a couple of weeks living there that it wasn’t working !), so I changed it but didn’t unplug the earth wire: I simply unplugged the two wires connected to the element and changed it ( after having disconnect the oven from any power source).
Put the new element on, plugged the two wires back, and as soon as I plugged the oven back to the power, the thermostat light turns on… even if I don’t touch anything ! It doesn’t seem to be heating if I don’t touch anything, hence why I’m surprised to see that light on !
