    Hiya Goatboy,
    Thanks for the input re Lavamat 610. She who must be obeyed, decided she was having a new machine ! So I took the back off old one & with help from another site, found that it was indeed the drum bearings.
    Got replacement bearings locally (£13.80) and rebuilt the washer ! Now working like a dream. Masses of brownie points for Moi !!!
    And wouldn’t you know it ? my usual engineer called about four hours after I’d finished asking what the problem was ? I got him to check out what I’d done (just in case !)

    Next project ??? (SHE says) extend the kitchen ? “and what about that conservatory your always going on about”. I think I’ll stick to what I know best “Locks”. If you ever need advice about them, I’m your man.
