Re: AEG Santo fridge is freezing food

Hi,
we’ve had a similar problem with our AEG f/f. Its a santo 3274-8kg, probably about 5 years old now. it played up as soon as we got it, and was repaired under warranty. it seemed ok for a while and then started doing exactly as yours is doing..freezing food. milk is always the first thing to freeze, closely followed by veg, then meat…very frustrating!

we had a repair man out who told us the circuit board was the only thing that could be faulty. this was changed at huge expense (could almost have bought a new appliance, but was trying to be environmentally friendly!) but failed to make any difference. i then questioned how a circuit board above the appliance could sense the temperature within it.. he looked very puzzled, but managed to download something online, and low and behold there are two sensors within the fridge (why it required a woman ‘homemaker’ to fathom that one out rather than the engineer i was paying considerable money to is beyond me..)

ANYWAY, he changed the two sensors in the fridge, and it was fine…for about 12 months after which it has started doing it AGAIN!!!

my advice would be, don’t spend a fortune getting it fixed..if you can replace the sensors yourself then go for it-they’re not particularly expensive in themselves, but i would be cautious about spending a lot on it as it seems to be a recurring problem…we won’t be buying AEG again!
