ParticipantMachine is now fixed.
For future reference the following Gorenje parts were used:- Gorenje Control Module – Control Unit Service WM70.1c – 436857
- Hisense Gorenje Temperature Sensitive Resistor – Temperature Sensor Assembly – 440248
The power board of the Control unit has changed slightly. There is a new power switch control section so that the power switch is now a press and hold to switch on and off, plus the machine automatically switches itself off when the programme has completed.

ParticipantThank you.
A quick scan shows that the Thermistor reading that I took equates to a temperature of 0o Centigrade. I’ve ordered a new one and so will probably fit that, as the machine definitely isn’t in a room at freezing point, but it would be interesting to check its value range against temperature.
I’ll also have a look for any signs of water leaks. I’m not aware of any at the moment, but I guess a minor leak may not show, especially if it drains out of the back of the machine.
If there’s any sign of leaks from the drum assembly itself then I’ll return the new parts and scrap the machine.
I’ve no idea what I’d replace it with these days, when I bought it it was a toss up between it and Miele, but even though they still rate highly their warranty period has reduced dramatically since then.October 24, 2024 at 9:42 am in reply to: Washing machine – ISE W1607W (ASKO WM70.1) Control board issue #491522chrisB-D
Participantiadom PM sent.
I have managed to find a UK supplier with both thermistor and Gorenje control board for under £250 and having convinced my wife that we can wait until Monday am willing to give it a punt so a service manual would be very useful.October 23, 2024 at 5:34 pm in reply to: Washing machine – ISE W1607W (ASKO WM70.1) Control board issue #491520chrisB-D
ParticipantYou’re correct its the connector for the thermistor.
The only documentation that I have is the user manual and the diagram found within the machine that shows what components are connected to the control board.
It shows a resistance range for the thermistor, but having measure it I think that I need to replace it, it reads 15.6KOhm which is outside of the expected range.I have had a reply from ASKO, they seem to think that Gorenje unit G436857 Control Unit Servis WM70.1C is applicable. They have it in stock, although a search on http://www.gorenje-spares.co.uk lists it a £802!

ParticipantThank you for your responses. It seems a shame that mechanically sound machines should be let down by their electronics. The failed PCB components that I have noted so far are cheaper than the postage and so just a matter of pounds in total.
I have reached out to ASKO asking for information and had found a Gorenje board listed through the Hisense website but am awaiting feedback.
I suspect that other components may have been damaged, for example, the components that have burned out on the PCB are in the supply or return to the thermistor. A check shows that this is exhibiting a higher resistance than detailed on the diagram that comes with the machine. This leads me to suspect that there may be other possible failures.
If I can get information on components then I may attempt a repair but the cost of a control unit plus other components may make a repair uneconomic.
