I had very similar symptoms with my dishwasher (SMI50M06GB/16, type SM6P1B) and so took the plunge and ordered a replacement reed switch. Within a few minutes of it arriving in the post I had it fitted and the machine was running through a test Quick cycle without resetting part way through – result!
Hopefully this thread will give others confidence if suffering similar symptoms and save £400+ on a new machine.
