    Thanks for that info. The dryer won’t see lower than 5 degrees too often but I appreciate the physics of the situation regarding condensation, even above that temperature. Looks like I need to go for the cheapest 5 year solution (indesit) since I cant put this indoors. I then get another one when it fails after the warranty expires.

    Thanks for your fast reply Martin. Not the answer I was hoping for but I now know my next step – it will be a pity to take it to the skip just ‘cos one PCB failed though, it worked well.
    I need to use the dryer in the garage so if I buy the cheap, simple, vented Indesit or Hotpoint from John Lewis (£170) and fork out for the 5 year g’tee at £65, am I likely to be in a better position than repairing this beast (can get PCB for £130 now). Or do you think the more expensive brands are worth the extra. I would value your experienced opinion (but won’t hold you to it!). Thanks again, Colin
