I had the same problem with my KGV3120GB/03. There is a clip at the left of the PCB which can be used to short pins 1 & 2 at the other end of the PCB. The clip can be put over two pads by pins 1 & 2: its probably for test purposes but it seems to have fixed the problem, the compressor now runs.
