Guess what? My MFI Diplomat oven inner glass door just exploded. When the glass that is all over the floor has cooled down I’ll see how much damage it has done to my kitchen. Luckily I took out the extended warranty (well it was part of the deal) because its just over a year old. I’m not sure I want another one of these death traps though. So MFI:
(1) Delivered 4 months late
(2) Delivered two kitchens to my address by mistake and had to come pick the other one up. I wondered quite how they were going to fit all those units in!
(3) Installed the worktops so badly that at one point they’d been cut 1.5cm away from the wall. That is a lot of silicon filler!
(4) Failed to collect my old oven and take it away despite promising for 9 months, I got a friend with a big car to take it to the tip eventually.
(5) Installed a hob with such a flimsy ignition button it had worn out in a year. I’ll be using the extended warranty to get a few spares.
(6) Now the oven door has exploded.

So MFI have been having financial difficulties of late. My heart bleeds…

By the way if anyone who has contacted trading standards about these ovens wants me to add my case please give me the contact details.
