ParticipantRe: HOTPOINT WMA36s – door lock light flashing – UPDATE
That answers my next question.
How sure can I be that it was the door module that blew the main board?
What if there is another fault that i cannot see and i blow 100 pounds of parts up in smoke as soon as i put them back in.It sounds like the Hotpoint engineer will be a good route to take at this time. Is the 99pound offer available through Hotpoint direct or is this an offer through a 3rd party?
Thanks for all the information guys!
Regards,
Nick.

Back again,
Bad news, blown circuit board!
I first noticed burn marks on the back of the program selector, then saw 2 burnt out tracks in the corresponding position on the main board.Any ideas how to proceed? Are the boards an economical repair, or it it time for a new machine?
Nick.
