back up and running. It was a blockage caused by a pebble the kids had found on the beach. Pebble had jammed behind the drain plug which meant it took a bit to undo.
Thanks for the advise, gave me the confidence to drain the water off which was the greatest fear.

Just for the sake of repeating other people I have a problem with an Ariston Magherita 2000. The water is not leaving the drum of the washer and the setting dial keeps on moving round. The washer was stopped mid-cycle and the door opened.
My wife seam to think this has happened before and there is away of fixing it by setting it to one of the end of cycle marks? Have missplaced the distructions and wife away for the week so any help would be appreciated
