Wow that was quick and efficient – big thank and also maybe a big apology.

I shouldn’t have assumed that the that all the codes etc also confirmed the colour so I thought I would double check. The washer is silver are the parts you have mentioned silver?

Indesit (IndeS**T)horror story you won’t sleep after reading

Indesit Washer Dryer WDG1095W – disaster from the start

Bought from House of Fraser – bought because I was told that Indesit delivered on weekends. I know now that Indesit is also known as Indes**t.

Called for delivery date and was told they didn’t deliver on Weekends – The HoF man was clearly more concerned with his commission that service.

Managed to take a day off (holiday!!!) for delivery.

Within weeks it started leeking.

Repairman came out about 6 times to fix it – and there was another two times he was supposed to come but never did.

The minute I turned it on after he visited it started leaking.

After a lot on complaining to HoF they finally agreed to replace it. I said I was not prepared to take another day off for it to be delivered.

HoF said well that was my problem and if I wanted my new washer I had to take the time off – I asked for my money back! Told No!

Finally spoke to the store manager who sorted it out with Indesit. This is how, Hof picked up my machine one Sat – during the week they returned it to Indesit and only then would Indesit release the new machine which HoF delivered on the following Sat.

While this was happening I kept on coming home to messages from Indesit delivery men trying to deliver a new machine during the week. I called Indesit and explained the situation and the lady said that she would sort it out. Kept on happening called again out of courtesy got a really rude lady on the phone who insisted no one was making a delivery to me and when I played the machine message back to her she hung up.

I feel I should point out that I was never rude, shouted was agressive on the phone to Indesit or HoF. However I was so frustrated with HoF once that I cried.

So was the new machine all ok? No copper bit which the carbon sticks rest again has one fillament out of alignment which made a clicking noise- did I complain? No I got used to the noise and when the carbon sticks wore down with my Dad on the mobile I replaced them myself – no problems.

Morals of the story – even if you need something quick take your time and do your research- and whatever you do don’t buy indesit.

Finally I would just like to say that I have realised that my Fridge Freezer, Dishwasher and Cooker are all over 10 years old (bought at the same time). Admittedly they were the top of the range at the time but the brand – HOTPOINT. No guarantee of quality now but worth a pat on the back.
