Many thanks. A helpful article. However it explains why this has become the norm but does not say if the energy savings are significant or whether running at faster times can damage the machine in the long term. Also it does not touch on the issue of whether colder washes are okay and how cold you can go.
I am thinking something with a 5 year warranty is more likely to last for instance there is a Blomberg LWI28441 Integrated 8kg 1400 Spin Washing Machine – White – A+++ Rated with a five year guarantee. Is there a cheaper version of this by say Beko. The Beko ones only seem to offer 1 year’s guarantee. The last machine we had was an ISE with 5ys warranty and that lasted twice as long. Am I right in thinking warranty indicates likely durability or am I on the wrong track?
I can’t remember when I last saw yellow pages and googling was giving a lot of outlets such as Curry’s and Argos that were not what I was looking for. However the link Don gave me pulled up a couple of the Euronics outlets we found via their site so it is all adding up and many thanks. One Euronics outlet has recommended Blomberg 8kg 1400 white at £350 +45 delivery and install. This comes with a 3 year warranty. For a five year warranty we will go above £500 but I wonder if that would be a better bet.
