Re: Siemens Frost Free Fridge Freezer not working.

My fridge is now working again. Basically I took the advice from another post on here and left the fridge freezer to defrost for 36 hours. I then took out the heater and fan assembly and tested them. The heater showed continuity but the motor did not. Therefore I decided that the fridge wasn’t working as the fan coil had burned out. However, with nothing to lose I reassembled everything and turned the fridge on and it worked. I can only assume that there is some kind of switch or sensor inside the motor that makes/breaks a the supply to the motor and under certain conditions you get an open circuit reading on a perfectly good motor.

I’ve started to defrost the freezer as I have noticed that there is a lot of ice inside the intake fan assembly in the freezer compartment (pic 1). I’ve taken a look at the drainage hose and i can’t see any water coming out of the water drain from the freezer (pic 2) which seems odd as I thought it would be quite wet as the freezer defrosts? I suppose all I can do now is wait for it to defrost and free up the fan?
