ParticipantOk so done some more checking.
This CF6004APW, has two sensors and what appears to be a double thermal fuse (4 wires)
Had the meter on the Fridge air sensor: 22.8kOhm at 4C, and 10.4KOhm at 24C
Also had the meter on the freezer evap/defrost sensor 113kOhm at (about) -29C, no access at the time of testing to change the temperature.
This suggests both thermistors are producing sensible readings assuming they are both 10K thermistors with beta of about 3250Also tested the resistance of the in fridge control, which reads for 50Kohm down to 1Kohm in about 10K steps, pretty much as expected.
Still to test: Evap defrost element, drain heating element, and evap thermistor at more temperatures.
Reminder symptoms are, freezer to cold -30, and fridge all working OK, if perhaps a little to cool at 2 – 3 degrees, compressor running a lot but does stop occasionally for relatively short periods of time.
Subject to further tests, and the fact I don’t understand how the good operation of the heating elements would affect the ongoing freezer temperature, bearing in mind I have fully defrosted and cleaned the freezer evaporator matrix and drain. I am almost ready to buy and replace the main control PCB, on the grounds can’t think of what else to check, have obtained another thermometer to check actual temps, and consistent with previous readings.
Hope this helps anyone else with similar problems, and open to suggestions as to other options to investigate.
Thanks
