The old one was badly corroded as you might expect after about 6 years of daily use…I fitted a new filter when I changed the assembly and it has been working a treat until now.
I will order a new part as I don’t want to strip it down without having the spares to hand.
I will let you know what I find…

Well the SAME fault is back less than 3 months after changing the heater/diverter assembly!
Looks like the replacement part has died… 😈
Are the replacement parts patten or genuine?

Not much fun if it is your first time or any time !!!!
and
Er, you won’t like it much……
Two of the biggest understatements of 2008!
For anyone else attempting this I agree 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} with the above quotes…
However, Penguin45 was correct in his diagnosis. There is a motor attached to the heater that directs the water flow. This is a weak point in the design because water can leak past an internal seal leading to corrosion around some internal contacts that control the motor. Therefore, nobody can repair the components…replacing the expensive heater assembly or buy a new dishwasher are the only options.
Penguin, thank you again for your expertise!

Just ordered the part via the link below…whopping 80 squids 😥 👿
How easy is it to fit? (dumb question I know ‘cos it depends on ability) :rolls:
