I have been suffering with this problem for almost 2 years. I rented a flat and the appliance was dodgy from the start. The door was filled with residue and mould. However after loads of hot washes and detergent I came to this website. I realise it is not hygienic and especially with kids it makes it worse to have clothes stinking after a wash. I realised that I had a blocked waste pipe. It is worth cleaning or replacing this as my waste pipe was absolutely filthy. You have to run warm water through it and shake it violently until all the debris loosens or try placing it in a bath with some soap liquid to help loosen the debris. I was horrified and shocked to find so much filth which explains the horrid smell from the Bosch exxcel 1200.
