ParticipantRe: AEG Lavamat 51635 balance problem
Afternoon all
I went through your suggestions but eveything seemed in order.
You were right about the front weight being a ring CJ, but it wasn’t loose.
I put the thing back in it’s place, ran a spin cycle while I checked the feet for ‘level’ and spotted the cause of the problem.
The front panel is held onto the sides with self tappers. The two at the bottom had worked loose. The bottom of the front panel was moving sideways by about an eigth of an inch.
Tightened up the screws and all now seems OK.
We’ll see how it goes.
Thanks again for the help.
Cheers

Hello CJ
a ring weight on the front of the drum usually held on by strap and/or a combination of bolts.
How would I get at it to have a look?

Thanks for the replies. Sorry for the delay in responding but I hadn’t checked the relevant box in my account options.
The weight on the back of the tub seems to be solid enough. Ill put a spanner on the bolts just to confirm it. Do you know if there is more than one weight? Is there another on the drum itself?
It seems to pump out OK. The water level drops in the drum and the pump ‘changes pitch’ , I assume when the tub is empty. The pump then runs for a while before the spin cycle starts. I’ll try stopping it when the spin cycle starts and have a look.
