Well thats done the trick. It came off easily. I found about 6 quid and fifteen shirt collar sticks as well as a lot of hair.
This repair lark is easy – Ill just come here from now on and do it myself. Dont worry about the resentment though – Im sure you making enough from all the advertising and the 34 million people who have logged on.
On a serious note though I appreciate your help. Going to put it back together and see if it works now.

I take it you mean the one coming from the drum. Whats the best way to remove the metal clip and will it be easy to reattach – yes Im thick in regards of home repairs, but I resent paying for a repairman just yet.

Ive got similar problems with my beautiful margherita. I want to check the filter but I cant open the cover. It moves a little but seems to be jammed stuck – the way the things designed its very difficult to get good leverage on it as well.
Any one got any ideas please?
