I’ve just cleaned it and applied said blob of solder, and I am delighted to report that the machine appears to be working perfectly again! 😀

Despite the slagging these get on the forum, I have to say mine has been a workhorse for 12 years now, with almost daily use for the last 8. Maybe I got a good one – the PCB says Ariston and not Indesit – but whatever, I’m very glad it’s still going strong.
