Re: Hoover AAA 1600 help and advice – drum does not turn

    Hi

Well.. I am all back working!

I blew the motor out with the airline and replaced the brushes, and all is now ok!

I do find it funny that this motor has a tach output on the rear, and computer obviously does not use the fact that it gets no pulses back from the motor to indicate an error message… seems a big omission from the design…

Anyway, the brushes I used were labeled “HomeSpare” part number 6758 – it claims they are laminated brushes, so hopefully they will last a while, although I would expect the original ones would have been too.

Thanks for the advice… really appreciated.

    Hi

    Thanks for the reply.

I removed the motor and, apart from being covered in carbon(!) the brushes are scerting no pressure on the commutator, so must be worn to excess…. I wills wap brushes and report back!

Re: Siemens SE24200 – intermittent electrical problem… HEL

    Thanks Greg…

I owe you a pint though… as the “fault” ended up being as you said – the plug was stuck into the rear of the machine in the tar sound proofing sheet!

I replaced the plug and wall socket too as there was signs of it being hot…not good.

I will keep an eye out on ebay for service info… as it is worth having anyway… It appears from time to time there…

Thnaks for the advice Greg…. I had not considered that!

I have seen the old “plug into the tar” before, but not thought to check on this machine.

If that is not the issue, I guess its the main control switch then… which could even write the machine off… what a waste!

Do you know who supplies wiring diagrams for these machines? It would be worth the tenner just to check!
