All five burners have safety thermocouples and these are the source of the problem. I am very interested to read Smeg have brought out new style thermocouples because we have been living with this problem for a long time and have had a couple of local engineers come out but all they did was twiddle the regulator screw which fixed the problem long enough for them to depart with a cheque but the problem reoccurred within a few days.
Repairs@ does not have an engineer for our area, postcode E9, but if you are an engineer reading this post and are planning on making a trip to London and would like to combine your journey with a repair job to fit these new style thermocouples please get in touch: 07946-616412.
